Taipei Zoo
The zoo was originally a place where emperors, nobles, or rich people raised rare animals to satisfy their curiosity or display their power and wealth. The West began to open the zoo to the general public in the 17th and 18th centuries, and the zoo gradually became a place for people to watch wild animals. In the process of civilization and enlightenment in the 19th century, Japan learned from the West to imitate and set up a zoo that symbolized modernization and civilization. With Japan’s rule of Taiwan, Taiwan’s first large-scale zoo, "Wushan Zoo" was established in Taiwan.
