Ji’an Qingxiu Temple
After Taiwan’s retrocession, the Yoshino Mission was renamed Qingxiu Temple. Designated a county-level historical site in 1997, it preserves altars, Fudo Myo-o stone carvings, Baidu stones, and stone Buddhas, telling the story of the local community while still listening to people’s prayers and blessings.

Taiwan Ocean Minerals Museum
The largest in Asia and Taiwan’s only theme park focused on deep-sea water. Surrounded by Japanese-style historical buildings and greenery, highlights include coastal air-raid tunnels and the peaceful Tai-Fertilizer Compound. Free admission with optional guided tours, DIY tofu pudding and colored salt workshops, and a deep-foot-relaxation trail make it a unique experience.

Hualien Rose Stone Art Museum
The museum showcases rose stones as its main exhibits, offering exhibition introductions and guided tours. Ken Dream Manor (Shinkong Chaofeng Leisure Farm)
Originally a rocky and barren riverbed, the farm was cultivated over 50 years by 2,000 veterans who persevered through typhoons. With heartfelt care for the land, the staff created Ken Dream Manor, a lush and scenic leisure farm in the Huatung Valley—perfect for experiencing ecology, agriculture, and nature.

Ji’an Hospitable Arts Village
Located in northern Ji’an Township, this village was originally the largest Japanese government-operated immigrant settlement in early 20th-century Taiwan, known as Yoshino Settlement. To ease settlers’ homesickness, Hualien’s first Shinto shrine was built here in 1912. The village features two exhibition halls—Yoshino Art & Culture Hall and HAKKA Life Hall—with permanent exhibitions and performance stages for local artists. A cultural and creative hall displays related artisan products, blending history, culture, and art.

Whales Passing Turumoan Cultural Center
Turumoan (TURUMOAN) originates from stories of Spanish admiration for Hualien, describing the valley plains rich in gold and sparkling minerals. Today, Whales Passing Turumoan offers whale-watching and sailing experiences, symbolizing the golden sunlight on the morning sea and the hope of safeguarding Taiwan’s East Coast natural treasures.
